WOW Australia

Become a DONOR

WOW Festival 2018 is being created through consultation with women and girls from Queensland, Australia and in other Commonwealth countries from many backgrounds and walks of life. We will be identifying topics and speakers, and we want you to get involved. By supporting Of One Mind to deliver this event your gift will create the following opportunities:

$100 - $1000

Will provide passes and travel assistance for local women and girls who may not normally be able to attend, including enabling women from Regional Queensland to travel to Brisbane to participate and tell their story.

You will receive a personal invitation to two events prior to WOW Festival 2018, keeping you updated on the program.

$1,000 and over

will ensure your funds go directly to developing key elements of the program of particular interest to you e.g.

  • Schools Education Program
  • Engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls
  • Engagement with women with a disability to ensure their voices are heard and their achievements and challenges acknowledged.

You will be part of a special circle of Changemakers, and acknowledged on our website. We will meet with you regarding our plans; you will also receive a personal invitation to two update events prior to WOW Festival 2018 and attend a private reception with special guests during the Festival.

In my mother's name

One of our Changemakers, Rose Neal has chosen to make her donation in the name of her mother - this is her story:

Marie Nell Neal - my inspiration-Edit.jpg

There she is … Marie Neal at the top of her game as Sister-in-Charge of the Burns Unit, Tamworth Base Hospital, ready and able to help and heal both physical and emotional trauma. She led by example in the 1960’s when many women gave up their careers to raise a family. With her well-acknowledged determination, strength and tenacity, she achieved both. As a qualified and compassionate midwife she led her field in Canada and Australia with courage and inspiration, particularly in maternal and child health for First Nations people... and there she is … my little mum as I saw her on a surprise visit at work, while on holiday from uni. Just look at that smile that delighted and embraced, making you feel like the most important person ever! She had unwavering confidence in my abilities and my power as a woman comes from her.
