The Queensland Government Women’s Strategy is dedicated to removing barriers preventing women and girls achieving their goals either at work or in the community and supports WOW Festival 2018 as part of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games arts and cultural program to work towards this outcome. Departments supporting the event include:
- Office of the Commonwealth Games (OCG) within the Department of Tourism, Major Events and Small Business
- Queensland Health
- Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning (DILGP)
- Department of Communities, Child Safety and Disability Services (DCCSDS) through the Queensland Office for Women
- Queensland Reconstruction Authority (QRA).
QUT Creative Industries faculty are partnering through the engagement of Dr Sandra Phillips as First Nations networking and engagement consultant for the event. Opportunities are also being identified to create work integrated learning opportunities for QUT students.
McCullough Robertson Lawyers have been supporting Of One Mind to bring WOW Festivals to Australia since 2015 through supporting events in Brisbane, Katherine and Melbourne
The Tim Fairfax Family Foundation supported WOW Katherine in 2016 and are ensuring that the voices of women from regional and remote areas in Queensland and the Northern Territory will be heard in the 2018 Festival
